Hey there, beautiful! I wanted to share a little something called the “Second Line”…Are you familiar? Well, if not….then don’t fret! I have a visual for you below demonstrating what it looks like! I really don’t need to explain what it is because I’m sure you’ll get the picture – no pun intended 😉
But just incase you would like my to elaborate then, here goes!
So in my experience of photographing weddings over the past 6 years, I have photographed the 2nd line many – many times!
What a “Second line” typically includes is an authentic brass band, umbrellas and some groovy dancing as you march around with your wedding party, family and guest! I’ve also seen the 2nd line happen with a DJ, but it’s just not the same in my opinion. But, regardless of if you use a DJ or a live brass band, it is still fun for everyone, along with reaching your calorie burn fit bit/apple watch goals.
This 2nd line is my favorite photograph, mainly because Charlene and King decided to march downtown  directly after the their ceremony to catch the pretty light happening! They’re amazing wedding planner scheduled the whole thing around sunset, which is why it turned out so beautifully.
We did stop traffic, but it was well worth celebrating with Charlene and King! They had family joining us from overseas, so it was something new for everyone to experience with this infamous Louisiana tradition.
If you’re looking to entertain your guest musically during your reception – definitely try out the second line! We need to have this as a new world-wide wedding tradition. 🙂
Congratulations Charlene & King, we absolutely loved working with you both!
XOXO
